1. Simplifying and Relaxing Origin Requirements

In the past few years, the Department has continuously rationalized the requirements of Production Notification Arrangement.

2. Lodging Applications using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

  1. The Department has implemented full EDI for the following three major trade documents.
Trade Documents Date of Full Implementation of EDI Performance Pledge (Working Days)
Production Notification 28 February 2000 Reduced from 2 to 1.5 days
Certificate of Origin 25 September 2000 Reduced from 2 to 1.5 days
Restrained Textiles Export Licence 1 January 1999 Reduced from 2 to 1 day
  2. The Department is actively considering extending EDI to other licensing services.
