Dear Sirs,
The US Trade Representative (USTR) announced on 23 July 2026 he is taking final action, at the US President’s direction, under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 by imposing tariffs of 10% or 12.5% on certain products of 60 economies (including the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong) effective from 24 July 2026.
2.In accordance with the specific direction of the US President, and considering the public comments and testimony, the advice of the Section 301 Committee, as well as the advice of advisory committees regarding the relevant investigations of 60 economies under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, the USTR issued a notice on 23 July 2026 announcing he is taking actions in each of these investigations by imposing tariffs of 10% or 12.5% on all products of the 60 investigated economies, with certain product exemptions as provided in Annexes I and II to this notice. The additional rates of duty are applicable with respect to products that are entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, effective from 24 July 2026, unless otherwise specified. Among others, relevant products of Chinese Mainland and relevant products of Hong Kong shall be assessed an additional ad valorem rate of duty of 12.5%. All articles and parts of articles subject to Section 232 tariffs are not covered by the USTR’s action pursuant to its notice on 23 July 2026. The concerned products shall continue to be subject to antidumping, countervailing, or other duties, fees, exactions and charges.
