Dear Sirs,
The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (Commission) published in the Federal Register (FR) of 20 April 2026 a direct final rule updating the mandatory standard for infant and cradle swings.
2.This direct final rule updates the mandatory standard for infant and cradle swings to incorporate by reference the 2025 version of the voluntary standard developed by ASTM International, i.e. ASTM F2088-25 - Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Infant and Cradle Swings.
3.The rule is effective on 25 July 2026. If the Commission receives a significant adverse comment by 20 May 2026, it will publish a document in the FR withdrawing the direct final rule before its effective date.
