Chinese Mainland : “Guidelines on the Common Needs of ‘Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Standards’ in 2026”
For the development of a new batch of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Standards, the Standardization Research Center for GBA (GBA Standardization Research Center) promulgated on 31 March 2026 the “Guidelines on the Common Needs of ‘GBA Standards’ in 2026”, which set out the priority sectors for developing GBA Standards and invite applications for developing GBA Standards from the trades in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
2.For the application requirements and documents as well as vetting arrangements for developing GBA Standards, please refer to the “Guidelines on Confirmation of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Standards (Trial)” promulgated by the GBA Standardization Research Center on 14 October 2025. Please refer to the Appendix for the full texts of the two guidelines (in Chinese only) mentioned above. The relevant trades are welcome to submit applications through the GBA Standard Information Public Service Platform (GBA Standard Platform) (https://www.gbsrc.org.cn/applicationDevelopment) (in Chinese only) or by email to the GBA Standardization Research Center (gbsrc@gdis.org.cn) in accordance with the specific requirements set out in the two guidelines. The two channels mentioned above accept applications all year round.
3.At present, a total of 270 GBA Standards have been developed and promulgated. The GBA Standards are non-compulsory in nature, and the relevant trades are welcome to adopt them on a voluntary basis.
