European Union (EU)* : Initiation of safeguard investigation concerning certain grain-oriented flat-rolled products of silicon-electrical steel
The European Commission published notice C/2026/1848 on 27 March 2026 announcing the initiation of a safeguard investigation on certain grain-oriented flat-rolled products of silicon-electrical steel. The notice is available at https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:C_202601848.
2.The product under investigation consists of certain grain-oriented flat-rolled products of silicon-electrical steel currently classified under CN codes 7225 11 00 and 7226 11 00; and steel laminations and cores, whether or not stacked or wound, for transformers and inductors, currently classified under CN code 8504 90 13.
3.All interested parties, including exporting producers and their associations, are invited to make their views known, submit information and provide supporting evidence within 21 days from 27 March 2026. Interested parties may make themselves known by contacting the Commission within 15 days from 27 March 2026. They may also apply to be heard by the Commission investigation services within 21 days from 27 March 2026. Please refer to the notice for contact details. If necessary, a reasoned request for a hearing with or intervention of the Hearing Officer, who reports directly to the Commissioner for Trade of the EU, may be made in writing within 15 days from 27 March 2026.
4.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact ZHENG Jingmin, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 9797. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
