Dear Sirs,
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 78/2024 of 17 January 2024, the European Commission published Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/114 on 24 January 2025 to impose a definitive countervailing duty on imports of electric bicycles originating in the Mainland of China. 2.Salient points of the Regulation are set out below -
| (a) Product | : | Cycles, with pedal assistance, with an auxiliary electric motor, currently falling under CN codes 8711 60 10 and ex 8711 60 90 (TARIC code 8711 60 90 10) |
| (b) Rate of duty | : | 17.2% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 3.9% to 15.1%) |
| (c) Effective date | : | 25 January 2025 |
3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact ZHENG Jingmin, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 9797. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
