Dear Sirs,
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 247/2025 of 21 March 2025, the European Commission published Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1732 on 14 August 2025 to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of candles, tapers and the like originating in the Mainland of China. 2.Salient points of the Regulation are set out below -
(a) Product | : | Candles, tapers and the like, currently falling under CN code 3406 00 00 |
(b) Rate of duty | : | 70.9% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 10.6% to 57.5%) |
(c) Effective date | : | 15 August 2025 |
(d) Collection of duty | : | The release for free circulation in the EU of the product shall be subject to the provision of a security deposit equivalent to the amount of the provisional duty. |
3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact ZHENG Jingmin, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 9797. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
