The European Commission published notice C/2025/6744 on 19 December 2025 announcing the initiation of an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of sodium benzoate originating in Chinese Mainland. The notice is available at: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:C_202506744.
2.The product under investigation is sodium benzoate, usually falling under the Customs and Statistics number 0023120-9 and the Chemical Abstracts Service number 532-32-1, currently classified under ex CN code 2916 31 00 (TARIC code 2916 31 00 91).
3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact ZHENG Jingmin, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 9797. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
