Dear Sirs,
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 198/2009 of 17 April 2009, the European Commission has adopted a Regulation which was published on 24 November 2025 to lay down ecodesign requirements for external power supplies, wireless chargers, wireless charging pads, battery chargers for portable batteries of general use and USB Type-C cables pursuant to Directive 2009/125/EC, and to repeal Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1782. Details are set out in the adopted Commission Regulation (EU) 2025/2052 which can be accessed through the following link: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:L_202502052. It will enter into force on 14 December 2025 with point 3 of Article 9 on transitional provisions to apply from the same date and other provisions to apply from 14 December 2028.
