Dear Sirs,
The Thai government initiated a safeguard investigation on polypropylene on 3 September 2025. Products covered in the investigation include the HS Codes of 3902.10.30.001, 3902.10.30.090, 3902.10.40.001, 3902.10.40.090, 3902.10.90.001, 3902.10.90.090, 3902.30.30.001, 3902.30.30.090, 3902.30.90.001, 3902.30.90.090 and 3902.90.90.000. After the investigation, the Thai government will determine whether imposition of safeguard measures on the imports of the products concerned is warranted. The Trade and Industry Department will keep the trade informed of the development.
2.The notification (in English) dated 8 September 2025 circulated by the World Trade Organization on the initiation of the safeguard investigation by Thailand is available at:
3.Those who wish to present evidences, documents or comments pertaining to the investigation shall submit the information in writing to the Department of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand. Submission deadline for producers/exporters situated outside Thailand is 1 October 2025 at 4:30 pm (Bangkok time), while deadline for domestic manufacturers/importers is 24 September 2025 at 4:30 pm (Bangkok time).
