Dear Sirs,
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 158/2024 of 16 February 2024, the European Commission published Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2673 on 14 October 2024 to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of glass fibre yarns originating in the Mainland of China. 2.Salient points of the Regulation are set out below -
| (a) Product | : | Glass fibre yarns, whether or not twisted, excluding glass fibre slivers, glass fibre cords and chopped strands, currently falling under CN codes ex 7019 13 00 and ex 7019 19 00 (TARIC codes 7019 13 00 10, 7019 13 00 15, 7019 13 00 20, 7019 13 00 25, 7019 13 00 30, 7019 13 00 50, 7019 13 00 87, 7019 13 00 94, 7019 19 00 30, 7019 19 00 85) and originating in the Mainland of China |
| (b) Rate of duty | : | 56.1% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for one company with individual duty rate 26.3%) |
| (c) Effective date | : | 15 October 2024 (the duty will apply for six months) |
| (d) Collection of duty | : | The release for free circulation in the EU of the product shall be subject to the provision of a security deposit equivalent to the amount of the provisional duty. |
3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact ZHENG Jingmin, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 9797. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
