Dear Sirs,
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 840/2023 of 21 November 2023, the European Commission published Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1608 on 6 June 2024 to make imports of erythritol originating in the Mainland of China currently under the anti-dumping investigation subject to registration. The Implementing Regulation is available at: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=OJ:L_202401608. Salient points of the Implementing Regulation are set out below.
2.The product concerned is erythritol, a four-carbon sugar alcohol (polyol) sweetener made from sugar or glucose, in its pure form or contained in blends containing less than 10% of other products by weight, currently classified under CN code ex 2905 49 00 for erythritol in its pure form and CN codes ex 2106 90 92 and ex 2106 90 98 for blended products (TARIC codes 2905 49 00 15, 2106 90 92 65, and 2106 90 98 15).
3.The Implementing Regulation will enter into force on 7 June 2024. All interested parties may make their views known in writing, provide supporting evidence or request to be heard by the Commission within 21 days from 6 June 2024. For further details, please refer to the above Implementing Regulation.
4.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact ZHENG Jingmin, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 9797. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
