Dear Sirs,
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 397/2023 of 9 June 2023, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU adopted Regulation (EU) 2024/3234 on 23 December 2024 to amend Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 as regards postponement of the date of application of the subject Regulation. 2.In gist, the date of application of the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 that lay down obligations on operators, traders and competent authorities is postponed by 12 months to allow relevant stakeholders to be fully prepared to comply with the obligations. In this regard, the relevant requirements under the Regulation on deforestation-free products shall apply from 30 December 2025. For certain operators that have been established as micro-undertakings or small undertakings, the requirements shall apply from 30 June 2026.
