Dear Sirs,
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 187/2024 of 7 March 2024, the UK Government published Trade Remedies Notice 2024/17 on 20 December 2024 to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of certain excavators originating in the Mainland of China. 2.Salient points of the notice are set out below -
| (a) Product | : | Self-propelled track-laying (tracked) excavators with a 360-degree, revolving superstructure and with an operating weight of 11,000kg (11 tonnes) or more, but less than 80,000kg (80 tonnes), currently falling under UK Global Tariff commodity code 8429 5210 00 |
| (b) Rate of duty | : | 64.17% of estimated anti-dumping amount (except for a number of companies with individual duty rates from 35.32% to 56.77%) |
| (c) Effective date | : | 21 December 2024 (the provisional remedy will end in six months; or when a definitive remedy is implemented, whichever is sooner) |
| (d) Collection of duty | : | All importers of the goods are required to give a guarantee in respect of the estimated anti-dumping duty during the period of the provisional remedy |
3.For traders involved in the exports of the subject product from the Guangdong Province, please contact ZHENG Jingmin, Director of Trade Remedy and Industry Injury Investigation Division under the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, at 86 20 3881 9797. The Division is responsible for, among others, guiding and coordinating enterprises in Guangdong Province in responding to anti-dumping investigations against products from the province.
