The SME Export Marketing Fund (EMF) provides funding support to non-listed Hong Kong enterprises for participation in export promotion activities to expand their markets outside Hong Kong. Non-listed enterprises registered in Hong Kong under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310) with substantive business operations in Hong Kong are eligible for funding support under the EMF. The funding support for each application will be provided on a 1 (government) : 3 (applicant enterprise) matching basis based on the total approved expenditure incurred, capped at $100,000. Each enterprise may receive funding support up to a cumulative limit of $1 million. The funding scope covers participation in exhibitions and business missions, placing advertisements on trade publications, conducting export promotion activities through electronic platforms/media, as well as setting up or enhancing corporate websites/mobile applications. Effective from 30 April 2021 until 30 June 2026, the funding scope is expanded to cover large-scale exhibitions targeting the local market as well as online exhibitions, and the eligibility criteria is relaxed to cover non-SMEs.
