With effect from 1 January 2007, the Rice Advisory Committee is reconstituted into a Customer Liaison Group (CLG) for Rice to enhance communication between the Trade and Industry Department (TID) and the rice trade. The Group is a non-statutory body chaired by the Assistant Director-General of Trade and Industry (Systems), and its members consist of management/employees of companies who are directly responsible for or involved in matters relating to the Rice Control Scheme (RCS) administered by TID.

Terms of Reference

1. To provide feedback to the TID on its rice licensing/registration and related services under the Rice Control Scheme;
2. To advise TID on how to enhance rice licensing/registration and related services under the RCS;
3. To enhance customers' understanding of TID's RCS, including its licensing/registration and related requirements, operations and services provided.
