The HKSAR Government announced on 5 January 2021 that save for those involved in the provision of emergency services and essential public services, all other government employees will be arranged to continue to work from home until 20 January 2021 in order to reduce the risk of the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
Following the above special work arrangement, the licensing and registration counter services of the Trade and Industry Department will be adjusted until 20 January 2021. Licensing and registration counter services related to rice, cereals and grain flour, powdered formula, strategic commodities will be provided on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Other counters will not be open to the public. Online services and appointment arrangement will continue to be provided. The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) will also be closed but applications for SME Export Marketing Fund will continue to be received by electronic means, through drop-in box or by post.
Infection control measures will be implemented at the Trade and Industry Tower to reduce the risk of infection and the spread of the virus. These measures include checking the body temperature of persons entering the building, providing alcohol hand sanitizer at counters, etc. Please download the “LeaveHomeSafe” mobile app and scan the QR code posted inside the Trade and Industry Tower to log the arrival and departure time in order to minimize the risk of further transmission of the virus.
