Commercial Information Circular No. 571/2009

European Union (EU) * : Classification of Certain Goods in the Combined Nomenclature (CN)

The European Commission (the Commission) has adopted three Regulations concerning the classification of certain goods in its commodity classification system, the Combined Nomenclature (CN). The Regulations stipulate the CN classification of certain footwear, and four-wheeled vehicles (All Terrain Vehicles) to ensure uniform application of the CN by Member States' customs authorities. Details are set out in the Commission Regulations (EC) No.872/2009, 895/2009, and 1051/2009. The regulations can be accessed through the following links:
