Commercial Information Circular No. 38/2004

India :Revised import manifest rules for ocean carriers and airlines

The Indian Consulate General of Hong Kong informed the Trade and Industry Department on 3 February 2004 that the Indian Customs Act governing the filing of manifests has been amended to provide for delivery of import manifests before the arrival of vessels and aircraft in India. The amended rules will take effect from 18 February 2004. Details are set out in the Indian Customs Circular No.110/2003 dated 22 December 2003 as attached (pdf format).
