Industrial Land

The Industries Support Division of the Trade and Industry Department aims to ensure an adequate supply of land for industrial use and industrial upgrade. We are closely involved in various territory-wide and regional planning studies on land use and development strategy carried out or commissioned by the Planning Department, which impinge on industrial land provision and development. We also provide inputs to rezoning applications and applications under Sections 16 & 17 of the Town Planning (Amendment) Ordinance 2004 related to industrial uses.

Manpower Training

The Industries Support Division of the Trade and Industry Department aims to ensure the availability of skilled manpower to meet the needs of industry. To this end, we are represented on the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and a number of its training boards and general committees which are tasked to advise VTC on the training needs of various industrial sectors. We are also represented on the Clothing Industry Training Authority.
