Textiles Trader Registration Scheme (TTRS)

Change in Scope

• Starting from 15 March 2006, TTRS covers :

1. imports of textiles from the Mainland;
2. exports of textiles to the Mainland;
3. exports of textiles to those economies which have invoked safeguard measures against textiles and clothing products of the Mainland, currently the USA and the European Union (EU); and
4. transhipment of textiles to and from any country or place.
   

• Export of knit-to-shape panels for processing outside Hong Kong and re-import of the piece-knitted garments concerned may be covered by TTRS.


• The former Special Export and Import Licensing (Textiles) Scheme for the USA market has been discontinued.


• TTRS is not applicable to cover textiles shipments to or from countries which are subject to trade sanctions imposed by the United Nations.
