Licence Exemptions

Exemptions are principally provided for under the Textiles Trader Registration Scheme (TTRS). Other exemptions under the law are as follows: 

Textiles imports from places other than the Mainland of China;

Textiles exports to places other than the Mainland of China and the USA;

Textiles transhipments;

Woven or knitted fabric swatches and sample yarn imported by air and not exceeding 0.8 m² in size in respect of fabric swatches and 1.2 kilograms in weight in respect of each type of yarn;

The following non-commercial shipments of textiles products if they are in a quantity which is reasonable having regard to the purpose for which they are imported or exported:

1. textiles articles that are imported or exported by an individual for his personal use or as a bona fide gift to another individual; and
   
   
2. textiles articles constituting part of the provisions required for consumption by the crew or passengers of the vessel, aircraft or vehicle on which the article is carried.
