Effect of Shipment

Requirement on the Importer

An importer shall present the Import Licence or Import and Export Licence (for importer of transhipment cargo covered by a through bill of lading) to the owner of the vessel, aircraft or vehicle in or on which any ozone depleting substances is imported within 7 days after the consignment is imported.

As a condition of issue of an Import Licence / Import and Export Licence, an importer must lodge an import notification with the Trade and Industry Department within 14 days after importation. Notifications should be supported by shipping documents like bills of lading, packing list, invoices, etc.
