Overview of Electronic Services

Benefits brought about by our Electronic Services

Greater Convenience - traders can lodge their applications/requests at their own premises, saving the travelling time and resources for trips to Trade and Industry Department or GACOs (for CO applications with GACOs) for the lodgement and re-lodgement of applications/requests.

Extended Service Hours - traders can lodge their applications/requests at any time during 7:00am to 11:00pm each day, including public holidays, i.e. 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. (For EMAN and e-TTRS, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)

Shorter Turnaround Time - traders can receive error messages from service provider on logical validation and checking of message data after lodgement; and receive decision/query messages from Government within a shorter turnaround time. For example, traders can receive electronic messages of approval, deferment or rejection one and a half clear working days for CO/PN applications, which is much faster than in the case of paper scenario, when the performance pledge for the processing of such applications was two clear working days.

Less Data Input or Error - with the facility of the customer software, application particulars input in the first instance can be retrieved for subsequent re-lodgement or amendment and other purposes, saving time and reducing error in data re-input and transcription.

Fewer Deferment/Rejection - validations and logical checking of data can be performed by the customer software and at service provider, resulting in fewer deferment or rejection at the Government processing.

Higher Level of Security - the usage of electronic signature helps enhance data security at traders' end.

Automatic Fee Payment - traders are no longer required to affix stamps on the applications as payment of application fees. Payment is calculated in the computer system and settled electronically.

Less Paper - messages are sent, received and stored electronically, saving paper and storage space both for traders and Government.
