Procedures and Supporting Documents

Traders are required to apply for CO at least 2 clear working days before departure of the consignment. The applicant exporter and manufacturer (and subcontractor) of a CO must have valid Business Registration and the applicant manufacturer (and subcontractor) must have valid Factory Registration. They can respectively prepare "CO Application (AP)" and "CO Manufacturer Declaration (MD)" via the Electronic CO System. Additional supporting documents, if any, are required to be submitted in person with the cover form to the Customer Service Centre, Textiles Licensing Branch of the Trade and Industry Department for further processing.

To use the Electronic service of Certificate of Origin (CO), traders need to register with Brio Electronic Commerce Limited and/or Tradelink Electronic Commerce Limited beforehand. For traders who are not yet ready to make use of the electronic service, they can patronize any one of the Electronic Trading Access Service (ETAS) centres of Brio or Tradelink.
