Dear Sirs,
Textiles Trader Registration Circular No. 5/02
Electronic Submission of Textiles Notification
To facilitate the trade, the Trade and Industry Department (TID) is now proceeding with necessary development work which will enable textiles traders registered under the Textiles Trader Registration Scheme to lodge Textiles Notifications via Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) service. The service is scheduled to be launched in early 2003.
-
TID envisages that for the purpose of processing the electronic transactions, certain information including company name, company address, Textiles Trader Registration Number, Business Registration Number, etc relating to the registered textiles traders will have to be passed to Tradelink Electronic Commerce Ltd (Tradelink). To facilitate the transfer of relevant traders' information to Tradelink necessary for validation purposes, your company is requested to fill in the Authorisation Form at the Appendix(pdf format).
-
It is to the benefit of registered textiles traders to make early use of EDI service to lodge Textiles Notifications as EDI-mode of trade transactions have proved to enable a shorter turnaround time and greater efficiency with less data re-entry and transcription, lower cost, less paper consumption due to electronic transmission and storage of transactions. Registered textiles traders who wish to make use of EDI service but have not returned the Authorisation Form shall, however, not be able to use the service until the Authorisation Form has been returned to TID. Duly completed Authorisation Form can be returned by post or by hand to the TTRS Unit, 12/F, Trade and Industry Department Tower, 700 Nathan Road, Mongkok, Kowloon the soonest possible.
