European Union (EU)* : Updates on the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 48/2017 of 13 January 2017, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has recently updated the candidate list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), adding the substance PFHxS to the list and updating entries for bisphenol A and four phthalates in the list to include endocrine-disruption properties for human health. DETAILS

2.According to the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), chemicals, preparations and articles containing SVHC are subject to authorisation and notification requirements. The candidate list will be regularly updated when additional substances are identified to be SVHC. Interested parties are urged to check their potential legal obligations resulting from the inclusion of substances in the SVHC candidate list.
