European Union (EU)* : Amendment to the Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 698/2015 dated 27 July 2015, the European Commission has adopted three Directives to amend Annex III to Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment regarding exemptions for cadmium and lead in filter glasses and glasses used for reflectance standards; and for lead in bearing shells and bushes for certain refrigerant-containing compressors; as well as for lead in white glasses used for optical applications.
