European Union (EU)* : Results of an Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Certain Welded Tubes and Pipes of Iron or Non-alloy Steel Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 1028/2013 of 19 December 2013, the European Commission has published an implementing regulation to maintain the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of certain welded tubes and pipes of iron or non-alloy steel originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China following an expiry review. DETAILS

2.Salient points are set out below:

(a) Product :
Welded tubes and pipes, of iron or non-alloy steel, of circular cross-section and of an external diameter not exceeding 168.3 mm, excluding line pipe of a kind used for oil or gas pipelines, casing and tubing of a kind used in drilling for oil or gas, precision tubes and tubes and pipes with attached fittings suitable for conducting gases or liquids for use in civil aircraft, currently falling within CN codes ex 7306 30 41, ex 7306 30 49, ex 7306 30 72 or ex 7306 30 77 (TARIC codes 7306 30 41 20, 7306 30 49 20, 7306 30 72 80 and 7306 30 77 80).
(b) Rate of Duty : 90.6% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty
(c) Effective Date : 28 January 2015
(d) Duration : 5 years

BACKGROUND

3.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain welded tubes and pipes of iron or non-alloy steel originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China has been imposed since 20 December 2008 and the duty in force is 90.6% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty. On 19 December 2013, the European Commission initiated an expiry review.
