Commercial Information Circular No. 735/2013

European Union (EU)* : Ecodesign Requirements for Space Heaters and Combination Heaters

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 560/2009 of 6 November 2009, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted a Regulation specifying the ecodesign requirements for space heaters and combination heaters. DETAILS

2.The Regulation establishes the ecodesign requirements for the placing on the market of space heaters and combination heaters with a rated heat output not more than 400 kW. However, it shall not apply to the products listed in Article 1(2) of the Regulation.

3.Details of the ecodesign requirements for heaters with the application dates on 26 September 2015, 26 September 2017 and 26 September 2018 are set out in Annex II of the Regulation. The compliance with ecodesign requirements shall be measured and calculated in accordance with the requirements set out in Annex III whereas verification procedures for market surveillance purposes are set out in Annex IV. The indicative benchmarks for best-performing heaters can be found in Annex V of the Regulation.
