Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 677/2013

European Union (EU)* : Termination of the Anti-dumping Proceeding on Imports of Stainless Steel Tube and Pipe Butt-welding Fittings, whether or not Finished, Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 925/2012 of 12 November 2012, the European Commission (the Commission) has published a decision to terminate the anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of stainless steel tube and pipe butt-welding fittings, whether or not finished, originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China. The decision can be accessed through the following link:
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2013:223:0013:0014:EN:PDF.

DETAILS

2.On 10 November 2012, the Commission initiated the anti-dumping proceeding on the basis of a complaint lodged by the Defence Committee of the Stainless Steel Butt-welding Fittings Industry of the European Union ('the complainant') on behalf of producers representing more than 25% of the total Union production of stainless steel tube and pipe butt-welding fittings. The complaint was said to contain prima facie evidence of the existence of dumping and of material injury resulting therefrom.

3.By a letter of 27 June 2013 to the Commission, the complainant withdrew its complaint. As investigation had not brought to light any considerations showing that such termination would be against the Union interest, the Commission considered that the present proceeding should be terminated. Interested parties were informed and given opportunity to comment. However, the Commission received no comments which would justify that such a termination would not be in the Union interest. Subsequently, the Commission has adopted the decision to terminate the anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of stainless steel tube and pipe butt-welding fittings, whether or not finished, originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China, currently falling within CN codes 7307 23 10 and 7307 23 90.

4.The decision shall enter into force on 22 August 2013.
