Commercial Information Circular No. 520/2013

European Union (EU)* : Tariff Quotas for Certain Agricultural and Industrial Products

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 1079/2012 of 21 December 2012, the Council of the EU has adopted a regulation to amend the list of products eligible for reduced tariffs under the Union's tariff quota mechanism.  The amending regulation can be accessed through the following link:

DETAILS

2.Tariff quotas allow Union industries to acquire products which are insufficient in the Union.  Products eligible for tariff quotas can be imported into the EU at reduced or zero tariff rate up to the quota limit within a specified period of time.  The normal tariff rate will resume when imports reach the quota limit or upon expiry of the quota validity period.  Details of the amendments and the related quotas are set out in the amending regulation and its annexes which shall apply from 1 July 2013.
