European Union (EU) * : Results of an Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Certain Tungsten Electrodes Originating in the Mainland of China
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 196/2012 of 9 March 2012, the Council of the EU has published a regulation to maintain the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of certain tungsten electrodes originating in the Mainland of China following an expiry review. 2.Salient points are set out below -
(a) Product | : | Tungsten welding electrodes, including tungsten bars and rods for welding electrodes, containing 94% or more by weight of tungsten, other than those obtained simply by sintering, whether or not cut to length, currently falling within CN codes ex 8101 99 10 and ex 8515 90 00 (TARIC codes 8101 99 10 10 and 8515 90 00 10). |
(b) Rate of Duty | : |
63.5% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for three companies whose individual rates range from 17% to 41%).

BACKGROUND
3.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain tungsten electrodes originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 14 March 2007 with the rate of duty as 63.5% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for three companies whose individual duty rates range from 17% to 41%).
4.The European Commission initiated an expiry review on 9 March 2012. As a result of the review, the definitive anti-dumping duty is maintained for a further five years with effect from 5 June 2013.
