Egypt : Termination of Safeguard Investigation on Cotton Textile and Mixed Cotton Textile
Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 238/2012 of 29 March 2012, Egypt has decided to terminate the safeguard investigation on cotton textile and mixed cotton textile, according to a recent communication circulated by the World Trade Organization (WTO). DETAILS
2.The Egyptian authorities notified to the WTO that their provisional safeguard measures against imports of cotton textile and mixed cotton textile was initiated on 29 February 2012. The provisional safeguard measure was applied for 200 days.
3.By communication of 19 September 2012, the Egyptian authorities notified to the WTO their decision to terminate the safeguard investigation against imports of cotton textile and mixed cotton textile, and cease the provisional safeguard measure against imports of the subject products. The final findings were published in the Official Gazette of Egypt on 12 September 2012.
