European Union (EU)* : Results of an Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Tartaric Acid Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circulars Nos. 74/2011 of 26 January 2011 and 288/2012 of 20 April 2012, the Council of the EU (the Council) has published a regulation to maintain the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of tartaric acid originating in the Mainland of China consequent to an expiry review. 2.Salient points are set out below -

BACKGROUND

3.Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of tartaric acid originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 28 January 2006. The rate of duty is 34.9% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price before duty (except for Hangzhou Bioking whose individual rate being 0% and for two companies whose individual duty rates are 4.7% and 10.1% respectively).
 

4.On 13 April 2012, the Council adopted an amending regulation to exclude Hangzhou Bioking from the definitive anti-dumping measures imposed.
 

5.The European Commission initiated an expiry review on 26 January 2011. As a result of the review, the definitive anti-dumping duty is maintained for five years with effect from 25 April 2012.
