European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a Definitive Anti-dumping Duty on Imports of
Certain Cargo Scanning Systems Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to the Commercial Information Circular No. 628/2009 of 17 December 2009, the Council of the EU has published a regulation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain cargo scanning systems originating in the Mainland of China. DETAILS

  1. Salient points are set out below -
(a) Product :

Systems for the scanning of cargo, based on the use of neutron technology or based on the use of X-rays with an X-ray source of 250 KeV or more or based on the use of gamma radiations, currently falling within CN codes ex 9022 19 00, ex 9022 29 00, ex 9027 80 17 and ex 9030 10 00 (TARIC codes 9022 19 00 10, 9022 29 00 10, 9027 80 17 10 and 9030 10 00 91) and motor vehicles equipped with such systems currently falling within CN code ex 8705 90 90 (TARIC code 8705 90 90 10).

(b) Rate of Duty :

34% of the net, free-at-Union-frontier price, before duty.

(c) Effective Date :

17 June 2010

(d) Duration :

5 years

(e) Collection of Duty

:

Amounts secured by way of the provisional anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of the product concerned since 18 December 2009 shall be definitively collected. The amounts secured in excess of the amount of the definitive anti-dumping duty shall be released.
