Dear Sirs,
Commercial Information Circular No. 493/2009
European Union (EU)* : Ecodesign Requirements on Ultraviolet Radiation of Non-directional Household Lamps
Further to Commercial Information Circulars No. 164/2009 of 30 March 2009, the European Commission (the Commission) has recently adopted a Regulation to amend the ecodesign requirements regarding ultraviolet radiation of non-directional household lamps. Details are set out in the Commission Regulation (EC) No. 859/2009 (the Regulation), which can be accessed through the following link:
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2009:247:0003:0005:EN:PDF
DETAILS
- According to evidence produced after the adoption of Regulation (EC) No. 244/2009 concerning the ecodesign requirements for non-directional household lamps, there is currently no suitable replacement for certain lamps to meet the ultraviolet radiation requirements. As a result, the relevant ecodesign requirements have been revised. Details are set out in the Annex of the Regulation.
