DETAIL

  1. In order to provide a higher level of protection to human health and the environment, the EU authorities considered it necessary to restrict the marketing and use of dichloromethane (DCM) in paint strippers, unscented and uncoloured lamp oils and grill lighter fluids labelled R65 or H304, as well as certain organostannic compounds (i.e. tri-substituted organostannic compounds, dibutyltin (DBT) compounds, and dioctyltin (DOT) compounds). The Decisions set out the limitations on the use of these substances and other relevant marketing and labelling requirements. Details of the restrictions are set out in Annex of the Decisions.
