European Union (EU)* : Amendments to the Implementation Provisions of the Community Customs Code

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 386/2008 of 28 July 2008, the European Commission (the Commission) has adopted a Regulation to amend the implementation provisions of the Community Customs Code. The Regulation sets out the implementation provisions, including the granting, suspension, revocation, and the application and issuing procedure, for single authorisation which refers to an authorisation involving customs administrations in more than one Member State. In order to achieve the objective of improving the application and authorisation procedures, electronic communication and database system for single authorisations are also introduced. Provisions relevant to TIR carnet have also been revised in order to integrate the TIR operations into the electronic environment.
