European Union (EU)* : Result of Expiry Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Sulphanilic Acid Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 284/2007 of 24 July 2007, the Council of the EU has published a regulation announcing the decision to maintain the anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of sulphanilic acid originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China consequent to an expiry review. BACKGROUND

3. Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of sulphanilic acid originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China has been imposed since 26 July 2002. The duty rate was revised on 13 February 2004 subsequent to a reinvestigation. The current duty in force is 33.7% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty. 
    
4. On the basis of a request lodged by two Community producers, Sorochimie Chimie Fine and CUF, Quimicos Industriais, S.A., representing 100% of the Community production of sulphanilic acid, the Commission initiated the expiry review on 24 July 2007.
