Commercial Information Circular No. 397/2008

European Union (EU)* : Classification of Certain Goods in the Combined Nomenclature (CN)

The European Commission (the Commission) has adopted four Regulations concerning the classification of certain goods in its commodity classification system, the Combined Nomenclature (CN). The Regulations stipulate the CN classification of certain cereal based breakfast food, photographic plate, optical appliance, pepper sauce, and curd to ensure uniform application of the CN by Member States' customs authorities. Details are set out in the Commission Regulations (EC) No. 359/2008, 457/2008, 724/2008 and 725/2008. The regulations can be accessed through the following links:
