Russia : Imposition of an Anti-dumping Duty on Imports of Bearings Originating in the Mainland of China

The Ministry for Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation (the Ministry) has announced the decision to impose an anti-dumping duty on imports of bearings originating in the Mainland of China.

  2. Salient points are set out below -
(a) Product :

Bearings (except for needle bearings), both in an assembled and disassembled state, classified under the Russian Trade Nomenclature 8482 10 1001, 8482 10 1002, 8482 10 1009, 8482 10 9001, 8482 10 9002, 8482 10 9003, 8482 10 9008, 8482 20 0001, 8482 20 0002, 8482 20 0009, 8482 30 0001, 8482 30 0009, 8482 50 0001, 8482 50 0002, 8482 50 0009, 8482 80 0001, 8482 80 0002, 8482 80 0009, 8482 91 1000, 8482 91 9000 and 8482 99 0000.

(b) Rate of Duty :

41.5% (except for one company whose individual rate of duty is 31.3%).

(c) Effective Date : 21 January 2008
(d) Duration : Five years

BACKGROUND

  1. The anti-dumping proceeding on the product concerned was initiated following a complaint lodged by two professional associations of Russian bearings producers (the complainants). Data provided by the complainants indicated the existence of dumped imports of bearings originating in the Mainland of China, causing injury to the Russian economic sector concerned. The Ministry, following the investigation, decided to impose an anti-dumping duty on imports of the product concerned originating in the Mainland of China.
