Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 483/2007

European Union (EU)* : Termination of the Partial Interim Review of the Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Integrated Electronic Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL-i) Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 357/2006 of 8 September 2006, the Council of the EU (the Council) has published a regulation to terminate the partial interim review of the anti-dumping measures imposed on imports of integrated electronic compact fluorescent lamps (CFL-i) originating in the Mainland of China. The regulation can be accessed through the following link :
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/site/en/oj/2007/l_317/l_31720071205en00010004.pdf.

DETAILS

  1.
  2. The review was limited in scope to the examination of the level of dumping concerning one exporting producer, Lisheng Electronic & Lighting (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. (the Company). Upon completion of the investigation, it is concluded that the circumstances with regard to dumping on the basis on which the anti-dumping measures were established for the Company in the original investigation has not changed. Therefore, the Council decided that the partial interim review concerning the Company be terminated and the anti-dumping measures currently in force be maintained.

BACKGROUND

  1. Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of CFL-i originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 20 July 2001. The rate of duty is 66.1% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty. Following a circumvention investigation, with effect from 10 June 2005, the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of CFL-i has been extended to imports of the same products consigned from Vietnam, Pakistan and/or the Philippines, whether declared as originating in Vietnam, Pakistan or the Philippines or not. Consequent to an expiry review, the anti-dumping duty imposed on the product concerned has been maintained for one year from 18 October 2007 (for more details, please refer to Commercial Information Circular No. 383/2007).
