Commercial Information Circular No. 380/2007

European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a Definitive Anti-dumping Duty on Imports of Peroxosulphates (Persulphates) Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 163/2007 of 12 April 2007, the Council of the EU has published a regulation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of peroxosulphates (persulphates) originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China. The regulation can be accessed through the following link :

  1. Salient points are set out below -

(a) Product :

Peroxosulphates (persulphates), including potassium peroxymonosulphate sulphate, falling within CN codes 2833 40 00 and ex 2842 90 80 (TARIC code 2842 90 80 20).

(b) Rate of Duty :

71.8% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty
(except for 2 companies whose individual duty rates are 0% and 24.5%).

(c) Effective Date : 12 October 2007
(d) Duration : Five years
(e) Collection of Duty

Amounts secured by way of provisional anti-dumping duties on imports of peroxosulphates (persulphates) since 13 April 2007 shall be definitively collected. The amounts secured in excess of the amount of the definitive duties shall be released. Where the definitive duties are higher than the provisional duties, only the amounts secured at the level of the provisional duties shall be definitely collected.
