Commercial Information Circular No. 163/2007

European Union (EU)* : Imposition of Provisional Anti-dumping Duty on Imports of Peroxosulphates (Persulphates) Originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 260/2006 of 14 July 2006, the European Commission (the Commission) has published a regulation to impose a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of peroxosulphates (persulphates) originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China. The regulation can be accessed through the following link :

  1. Salient points are set out below -
(a) Product : Peroxosulphates (persulphates), including potassium peroxymonosulphate sulphate, falling within CN codes 2833 40 00 and ex 2842 90 80 (TARIC code 2842 90 80 20).
(b) Rate of Duty : 67.4% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty (except for 3 companies whose individual duty rates range from 0% to 14.4%).
(c) Effective Date : 13 April 2007 (the duty will apply for 6 months).
(d)Collection of Duty : The release of the product for free circulation in the Community shall be subject to the provision of a security equivalent to the amount of the provisional duty.
(e)Time Limit for Comments : Interested parties may request disclosure of the essential facts and considerations on the basis of which the regulation was adopted, make their views known in writing and apply to be heard by the Commission within one month from 13 April 2007.
