Commercial Information Circular No. 489/2006

European Union (EU)* : Notice Concerning Anti-dumping Measures on Imports of Para-cresol originating in the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 246/2003 of 27 September 2003, a notice has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union concerning the anti-dumping measures imposed on imports of para-cresol into the European Community manufactured by Shandong Reipu Biochemicals Co Ltd. Pursuant to the judgement of the Court of First Instance of the European Communities, the above-mentioned company is no longer subject to the anti-dumping measures on imports of para-cresol originating in the Mainland of China and the anti-dumping duties paid on imports of para-cresol manufactured by the above-mentioned company should be reimbursed. A copy of the notice is at Annex (pdf format) for reference.

BACKGROUND

Definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of para-cresol originating in the Mainland of China has been imposed since 21 September 2003 at a rate of 40.7% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty (except for one company with individual duty rate of 10.8% and the above-mentioned company with individual duty rate of 12.3%).
