European Union (EU)1 : Imposition of a Definitive Anti-dumping Duty on
Imports of Certain Footwear with Uppers of Leather Originating in, inter alia,
the Mainland of China
Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 132/2006 of 6 April 2006, the Council of the EU has published a regulation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain footwear with uppers of leather or composition leather originating in, inter alia, the Mainland of China. Amounts secured by way of provisional anti-dumping duty imposed since 7 April 2006 will be definitively collected at the rate definitely imposed by this regulation. The amounts secured in excess of the amount of definitive duty shall be released. |

"Sports footwear" shall mean footwear within the meaning of subheading note 1 to Chapter 64 of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1719/2005 (extracted at Annex II (pdf format) ). |

"Footwear involving special technology" shall mean footwear having a CIF price per pair of not less than EUR 7.5, for use in sporting activities, with a single- or multi-layer moulded sole, not injected, manufactured from synthetic materials specially designed to absorb the impact of vertical or lateral movements and with technical features such as hermetic pads containing gas or fluid, mechanical components which absorb or neutralise impact, or materials such as low-density polymers and falling within CN codes ex 6403 91 11, ex 6403 91 13, ex 6403 91 16, ex 6403 91 18, ex 6403 91 91, ex 6403 91 93, ex 6403 91 96, ex 6403 91 98, ex 6403 99 91,

"Slippers and other indoor footwear" shall mean such footwear falling within CN code ex 6405 10 10. |
