Commercial Information Circular No. 290/2006

European Union (EU)* : Classification of Certain Goods in the
Combined Nomenclature (CN)

The European Commission has adopted four Regulations concerning the classification of certain goods in its commodity classification system, the Combined Nomenclature (CN). The Regulations stipulate the CN classification of certain security device, LCD module, wafers, portable battery-operated digital sound and video recording and reproducing apparatus, ball-point pen and watch with flash memory, and geometric puzzle, to ensure uniform application of the CN by Member States' customs authorities. Details are set out in Commission Regulation (EC) Nos. 888/2006, 957/2006, 1049/2006 and 1056/2006 (pdf format), copies of which are attached to this circular for reference.
