Commercial Information Circular No. 288/2006

European Union (EU)* : Imposition of a Definitive Anti-dumping Duty on Imports of Lever Arch Mechanisms Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 39/2006 of 27 January 2006, the Council of the EU has published a regulation to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of lever arch mechanisms originating in the mainland of China. A copy of the regulation is at Annex (pdf format) for reference. Salient points are set out below-

(a) Product : Lever arch mechanisms for archiving sheets and other documents in binders and files and falling within CN code ex 8305 10 00 (TARIC code 8305 10 00 50).
(b) Rate of Duty : 47.4% of the net, free-at-Community-frontier price before duty (except for one company whose individual duty is 27.1%).
(c) Effective Date : 28 July 2006
(d) Duration : Five years
(e) Collection of Provisional Duty : Amounts secured by way of provisional anti-dumping duties imposed since 28 January 2006 will be definitively collected at the rate of the definitive anti-dumping duties. The amounts secured in excess of the definitive duty rates will be released.
