Dear Sirs,

Commercial Information Circular No. 329/2005

European Union (EU)* : Modifications of Names and Addresses of Certain Parties Exempted from the Extended Anti-dumping Duty Imposed on Imports of Certain Bicycle Parts Originating in the Mainland of China

Further to Commercial Information Circular No. 258/2005 of 15 July 2005, the European Commission (the Commission) has published a notice to update the names and addresses of certain parties exempted from the extended anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of certain bicycle parts originating in the mainland of China. A copy of the notice is at Attachment (pdf format) for reference.

DETAILS

  1.
  2. Based on the findings of a circumvention investigation, the Council of the EU extended with effect from 19 January 1997 the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed on imports of bicycles originating in the mainland of China to imports of certain bicycle parts originating in the mainland of China. Bicycle assemblers in the EU could however request for exemption from the extended anti-dumping duty if they could prove, among other things, that their assembly operations did not circumvent the EU's anti-dumping duty imposed on bicycles originating in the mainland of China. The Commission would publish and update the list of exempted parties as and when necessary.

  3. Five exempted parties, whose names and/or legal addresses have been changed, informed the Commission of the modification. Having examined the information supplied, the Commission decided that these changes should not affect the exemption from the extended anti-dumping duty and therefore published the updated information on these five exempted parties. Details are shown in the Annex of the Attachment (pdf format).
